November 2014

On October 21 and 22, 2014, members of the Greater Cleveland community gathered for the Children of Incarcerated Parents Community Engagement Forums. The goals of these engagement sessions were to educate about the needs of children with incarcerated parents and effective responses to address those needs, and hear from local and national experts on this topic in the areas of research, providing services, and living within families impacted by incarceration. (Forum agendas)

The documents from these sessions are available below.

Key agencies have been meeting since 2013 to develop a coordinated, comprehensive service system to address the unique needs of children of incarcerated parents (CIP) in Cuyahoga County. Oriana House, Inc. convened interested organizations (originally University Hospitals’ Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, Cuyahoga County Office of Reentry, Community Endeavors Foundation-Healthy Fathering Collaborative, and Schubert Center for Child Studies). There are currently over 40 individuals representing a diverse group of agencies participating in the development of the Strategy.
