Cuyahoga County hosts forum on recruiting African-American, Latino boys for youth programs

“Recruiting and Retaining African-American and Latino Boys in the Out-of-School Time Setting”



Cuyahoga County, through its public-private MyCom partnership, is hosting a community dialogue Friday, September 16, 2011, 2:30 to 5:00 p.m., on the topic “Recruiting and Retaining African-American and Latino Boys in the Out-of-School Time Setting.”

Starting Point, MyCom’s lead partner for after-school and summer activities for youth, developed the forum and will hold the event at their location, 4600 Euclid Avenue, Suite 500, in Cleveland.

The event will be facilitated by Andres Gonzalez, M.Ed., Director of Diversity and Community Outreach at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and will have a panelist of youth as well as Kevin Hodges, Director of the St. Martin de Porres Family Center; Michael Matthews, Associate Director of Neighborhood Leadership Institute; Antoinne McKinney, Founder and CEO of Young A.D.U.L.T.S., Inc.; Felix Muniz, Pastor at Nueva Luz of the Nazarene and Executive Director of the Galilean Theological Center; and Victor Ruiz, Executive Director of Esperanza.
